Getting started

At Europcar we strive to make your car or van hire experience as simple as possible. Here we have put together various topics of useful information, advice and help related to your electric vehicle hire.

Step 1

Use the key to unlock the doors by pressing the button with the sign of the padlock unlocked when you're close to the car. Or if the vehicle is equiped with the Keyless entry, you can simply tuch the door handle to open the vehicle.

The car is now unlocked, you can open the doors.

Step 3

Pull the door handle to open the door.

Step 1 Make sure you indicate where are located the Start Button (if any)

Press the brake pedal and the Power button at the same time. Power button is located on the center console above the gear selector.

As it's an electric vehicle don't be surprised by the absence of noise

Press the brake pedal and select drive / D with the gearbox to start driving. The gear selector is on the center console.

Remove your feet from the braking pedal, the vehicle will slowly start to advance still making no motor noise as it's an electric vehicle. If the vehicle is not moving, please verify that you disable the automatic parking brake.

Drive the electric vehicle as you would a traditional automatic car, utilizing the accelerator pedal to accelerate and the brake pedal to decelerate or stop.

When you are in a safe and appropriate parking spot, keep your feet on the brake and shift the vehicle into 'Park' or 'P' mode using the gear selector. Turn off the vehicle by pressing the power button

Leave the vehicle and ensure all doors are properly closed

Push the button with a BMW logo to lock the vehicle.

Step 1

The charging port is located on the passenger seat rear side of the BMW I5. Ensure the vehicle is unlocked and open the charging port door with a press at the left side of the charge port door and release. The door will open and reveal another cover of the port, press the grey buttons to access the combined charging port.

Step 2

To start charging, insert the connector into the charge port and there will be a green LED light indicating that the BMW I5 is charging. You can lock the vehicle using the key and the chcarging cable will be locked in the connector.

Step 3

Unplug & Go When charging is complete, unlock the vehicle, gently pull and remove the connector and return it to its dock. You can stop charging at any time by disconnecting the charge cable.
